High above the bustling cobblestone streets of Montreal’s Old Port district lies a hidden gem that serves up customized mojitos with gourmet appetizers completed with a view that overlooks Notre Dame’s Basilica.

Terrasse Place d’Armes is the seasonal rooftop patio of Place d’Armes Hotel and Suites. Due to the area’s old world European flare, its location is one of Montreal’s most popular destinations for both tourists and locals. Many of Terrasse Place d’Armes patrons are Montrealers looking to unwind during a hard day’s work or tourists looking for an unobstructed view of the landmarks that surround Place d’Armes square with cocktails and appetizers to boot.

While this luxurious terrace has a diverse repertoire of wines, delicious appetizers and table platters, it’s their selection of mojitos ($15) and sangrias ($14 for a glass, $36 for a pitcher) that have its customers coming back for more. Customers can choose between fourteen different types of mojitos including basil, lychee, mango and even pomegranate.

The menu includes three different types of sangria including clear sangria which includes sparkling white wine, elderflower, white cranberry juice and seasonal berries, and makes for the perfect pairing with their three mini beef sliders with Guinness cheddar on onion bread ($15).

Terrasse Place d’Armes is conveniently located walking distance from Place d’Armes subway station. This seasonal venue typically opens in May and closes at the end of September. Its days of operation are dependent upon Montreal’s cooperative weather. Terrasse Place d’Armes is located at 701 Cote de la Place d’Armes on the eighth floor.
