Everyone loves brunching. Montrealers, we just love our late mornings! Lucky enough, Montreal is abundant with great brunch and breakfast locations. For those who are looking to have a refreshing and unforgettable brunch experience, we decided to list you our top 5 spots for special occasion brunch. Warning, these top 5 are for real brunchers. You must show up with both a great appetite and your wallet! Perfect for special occasions with family or for couples.

The Ritz Carlton – Maison Boulud

The Ritz Carlton takes it to another level in exclusivity and class. It’s perhaps one of our more pricy options. Catering to the elite, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal Brunch is a unique moment to meet in family, with friends or in couple in an historic place, the hand-painted Oval Room, where the quality and the experience of the service are at their highest. The Oval Room also opens onto a beautiful patio and garden, hard to tell that you’re in the centre of the city.

Château Vaudreuil – Ristorante Villa d’Este

An exquisite feast would be the best way to describe it.  Château Vaudreuil is a hotel in an impressive setting. With its waterfront view and its castle-like feel, its restaurant only adds to its uniqueness. Their famous brunch is served every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and is setup as a buffet. Menu items are nonetheless still available. Expect a chic environment and a series of musicians made up of a violinist, guitarist, and more. They have anything and everything you can think of at this buffet, from meats, to pastas, to eggs benedict and flambéed crêpes, along with a dessert buffet to die for.

Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth

If you’re looking for something more central, in the heart of Downtown Montreal, then this is the brunch you must try. It might not have a waterfront view, but the Queen Elizabeth has glamour and class written all over it. A classical music band walks around from table to table enchanting all guests, playing anything from the cello, the violin, and even an enchanting Spanish guitar. But let’s not get tangled with details. The food is simply amazing. Again, this brunch offers anything your taste buds can imagine in terms of variety and quality. All this is topped off with a service that can only be compared to royalty. This one takes 2nd place in our picks.

Price: $39.00+tx for buffet option
Time: Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Willow Inn

For the outdoorsy types, this one is one of our favorites. Whether it’s with friends, your significant other, or the family, the willow inn caters to every taste. Set on the shore of the Ottawa River, you can occasionally see the Oka Ferry criss-cross from one end to the other. Their outdoor bar has everything you need including a great sangria and their food menu is just what you need on a terrace, bistro food and finger items for your comfort. We specifically suggest the Willow Inn for its outdoor setup and for sunny temperatures. Indoors, it is more gloomy and comfy, something more convenient for a winter escape. Be sure to check out the history of the Willow, it’s pretty interesting…

Manoir Hôtel Saint-Sauveur

The Manoir is special in its own way. A little further away from the metropolitan area of Montreal, it’s a home away from home. In the winter you can see the beautiful ski slopes surrounding it at a distance, illuminated in the night time and bright white in the day time. Brunchers are allowed access to the big-size pool. The terroir menu is the best in the area and is considered by many to be excellent ! Help your digestion process by taking an nice stroll in the pleasant Saint-Sauveur village with its specialty boutiques and its nearby warehouse sales. Definitely a getaway to try.
