Well, sort of. Ever wanted to see Cher, Celine, Barbra, and Elton John all perform in one night? Well now you can, over the course of two nights, experience what will most likely be the most celebrity-filled lineup anyone has seen — thanks to the world famous celebrity impersonators, The Edwards Twins.
The identical twin impersonators will be coming back to Montreal on August 19th and 20th at the St-James Theatre on St-Jacques Ouest, this after having two very successful experiences with sold-out performances in the city in 2011 and 2012. This will be the Twins’ 30-year performance celebration, and it is one that even has the seal of approval by the Queen of Quebec herself, Celine Dion, who urged the performers to add a stop in Montreal after she saw them in Las Vegas.
Eddie and Anthony Edwards hail from California and have been performing and doing impersonations ever since they were children. Having grown up across the street from the NBC TV Studios, the boys would sneak in to watch the performers and later mimic what they saw to entertain friends and family. In fact, it was American television icon Carol Burnett who suggested that the twins perform together — a key decision in their success — and the rest is history.
The Edwards Twins have mastered impersonating hundreds of artists such as Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand, Tom Jones and Cher (just to name a few), and promise to delight their eager Montreal fans who have been calling for a show in the city since the Twins’ last success.
So if you can’t afford the tickets to any of these performers’ actual shows, consider The Edwards Twins’ evening of impersonation as your happy alternative.
