Reitmans Canada is expanding their activewear line Hyba by opening 17 stores across Canada. We were lucky to attend the launch event at their Carrefour Laval location and we couldn’t be more impressed with the brand. The line has been at Reitmans for two years now, and they’ve only just allowed the brand to fly solo. And with good reason.

The Carrefour Laval location, along with their other stores, is your one stop shop for activewear and athleisure. You can find yoga attire, true performance gear, sweats, hoodies, you name it. The line screams comfort without sacrificing style. And the price point is tough to beat, with tops ranging from $28 to $34 and bottoms ranging from $38 to $44.

The activewear keeps us moving ladies in mind by including small details that make all the difference. Their activewear tops have a spot to thread your earphones through, so you don’t have to worry about getting tangled mid-push-up. The tops and pants also have nifty zippered pockets to hold your programs, iPods, or phones while on the move.

“HYBA speaks to the majority of women who are seeking to become more active without the pressure of becoming a top athlete. HYBA is not about how many calories you burn or how many miles you’ve run. It’s about bringing the fun back in fitness, it’s moving while doing the things you already love doing, whether it’s walking an extra block with the dog, dancing in the kitchen or beating your best lap time”, said Jackie Tardif, Senior Vice President for Reitmans and HYBA.

Hyba‘s goal is to encourage people to get moving, and that doesn’t necessarily mean hitting the squat rack at the gym. And it definitely helps that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get great quality activewear that looks good too. Let’s face it. Most of us don’t care how we look when exercising (we’re going to be sweaty and gross anyway, right?). The exorbitant prices some activewear lines charge make us shy away from getting quality clothes (those cotton t-shirts sure are fun to peel off, aren’t they?). But now, we can pick up a great pair of sweats or leggings and get moving (without worrying if you’ll bump into someone you know)!
