The Orange Julep is one of Montreal’s famous attractions. The name lends itself to the structure of the building, which you cannot miss while driving on Decarie Boulevard. It is a large spherical building, three storeys high, and looks like a giant orange. The place has been around for many years, having been built in 1932 by its founder Hermas Gibeau.

During the summer, the restaurant is open 24 hours a day, perfect for late night munchies. They also host classic car and motorcycle meets for enthusiasts on Wednesdays from the months of May to August.

If you’re looking for a casual place to eat, filled with diner-like food, then the Orange Julep is the place. The Orange Julep is based around a secret family recipe of its famous drink (which holds the namesake of the enterprise). A simple, orange, foamy, and delicious orange juice is their pride and joy. For the sweet tooth in all of us, ask for it mixed with ice cream to add some more frothy goodness.

It’s not only their signature drink that attracts people to the big orange ball. The Orange Julep is considered to be one of Montreal’s top fast-food joints. Their menu is filled with greasy foods such as hot dogs, burgers, french fries, and poutine.

In the summer, sit outside on their picnic benches to enjoy your deliciously greasy meal, or take it to go. In the winter, they protect their order counter from the elements and add a few tables for patrons to stand around and munch all day and late into the evening.

Need we say more? The Orange Julep has everything you need to quench your thirst, to fulfill all your junk food desires, and it’s opened all night during the summer.
