Many believe that Japanese cuisine corresponds to sushi and ramen, but, in reality, it consists of much more than that. Kazu is a Japanese restaurant nestled in the downtown area that provides an intimate, tasty, and truly Japanese dining experience.

The dining experience at Kazu is authentically Japanese, with round lanterns hanging from the ceiling and staff warmly welcoming you with Japanese greetings as you walk in.

The cuisine itself is exquisite and is the epitome of the Kazu experience. One of their most popular dishes is their tuna and salmon salad rice bowl, consisting of vinegar rice and crispy lettuce accompanied by silky pieces of tuna and salmon tartare. Another popular order is the restaurant’s twist on bibimbap. Their bowl of crunchy rice, colorful vegetables, and runny egg is often topped with a prime piece of melt-in-your-mouth beef that slides right off the bone. The shrimp burger is another favourite, made with black tiger shrimp enveloped in a delicious and fluffy bun.

Kazu is perfect for anyone craving a true Japanese dining experience. Fortunately, their meals are available for pick up, and they even sell some of their homemade vinaigrettes for you to enjoy at home.

There seems to be a great deal of people with a craving for Kazu, as there is always a line up leading to this inconspicuous yet sought-after restaurant. Seating is limited, however, as there is space for approximately twenty diners at a time. They do not take reservations, so be sure to arrive before the opening hours if you want to guarantee a spot without waiting.

Just as the Kazu staff yells as you exit, Arigatou gozaimasu! Thank you!
