Montreal is filled with talent and is home to some great cinematographic work. A specific group of Montreal-based artists caught our eye recently; they are the McKinnon Brothers, also known as Five Knights Productions. The McKinnon brothers have been working on a project that is hard not to fall in love with. Kin Fables is a trilogy that is told through 3 short films, as well as art work and music. Each fable is unique in itself, all while relating to one another, therefore contributing to one greater vision. Kin Fables transports its viewers into a magical and symbolic world that’s not only a real visual masterpiece but also holds deep message. KIN, the first instalment of the trilogy has won the ”Best Cinematography” laurel at the Fantasia International Film Festival and is presently a Vimeo Staff Pick. The McKinnon Brothers are holding a Kickstarters campaign in order to fund the rest of their ambitious project.
