The Woman Behind the Overnight Business Plan
The “anti-spa” beauty bar was conceptualized and created by CEO Kristen Wood. After noticing a gap between the services offered in spas and salons in Toronto, she decided to open up Toronto’s first niche beauty bar and “anti-spa.” The Ten Spot offers high-end beauty services—paired with quality products—and valuable advice at an affordable price. Kristen currently focuses on brand oversight, development, and expansion—she plays an active role in every area of the business. Kristen was named one of PROFIT/Chatelaine magazine’s top 100 female entrepreneurs in Canada in 2016 and has landed The Ten Spot on PROFIT 500’s fastest growing companies in 2016 as well. Due to their success in Canada, The Ten Spot plans to eventually open shop in the U.S.A. We had the privilege of chatting with Kristen at Montreal’s 10Spot VIP event and we must say that she is both hardworking and genuine; she simply wants the best for her clients!

The Ten Spot has an extensive range of services and they only use the best products and technology as you get your beautification on. #GetNailed at The Ten Spot and opt for a gel pedi—which lasts 60 minutes and includes a complimentary toe wax—at the price of $70. Don’t have a whole hour to dedicate to your toes? Then opt for the quickie pedi of 30 minutes, which is still very thorough and costs $42. Don’t be shy to show off your hands with an au-naturel gel mani, which goes for $50 and lasts 40 minutes. Waxing services for above and below the belt, three types of facials, which each include a skin analysis, and lash and brow tinting are also services offered at Montreal’s 10Spot location. And at last, we cannot forget to mention the 10Spot’s laser hair removal services—for above and below the belt—in which they use modern and efficient equipment.
