Powered by the same team who brought Montreal’s sister restaurants L’Orignal and Le Gros Jambon, The Royal Merchant is a new go-to spot for brunch, lunch, dinner, a bustling 5 à 7, or late-night cocktails.

Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, this tavern-style restaurant is committed to delivering a little something for everyone. Ryan Dixon and his team cook up countless tasty Italian comfort food variations complete with traditional pasta, salad, and pizza dishes. They also boast inventive recipes ranging from baked macaroni & cheese drizzled with truffle oil, guacamole-covered salmon tartare, or poutine topped with blue cheese and buffalo sauce—all for under $25. In the mood for a hefty brunch? Stop by Saturday and Sunday between 11:00am and 3:30pm to try their breakfast pizza or burger.

In addition to their flavourful menu, The Royal Merchant also boasts a number of televisions and is a great spot for watching any sporting event. The awesome staff adds to an already unique and homey atmosphere, making it a great alternative to your traditional Montreal pub-style restaurant. Owner Michael Terlecki likes to spice things up during hockey games by giving away nine free shots to the people sitting around him when the Habs score—keeping the legendary #9 Maurice “The Rocket” Richard alive. This new hotspot also hosts a variety of 5 à 7 events and welcomes several local Djs on weekends.

Combining great food, great people and an all-around great time, The Royal Merchant will keep you coming back for more reasons than one.
