We recently had the pleasure of attending the opening of Old Montreal’s newest neighbourhood restaurant, 155 Fahrenheit. The bubbly kept on flowing, the food kept on coming, and DJ Maddielonglegz served up some sweet beats all night long.

Our favourite bites of the evening: the beef burger, made with beef, pork belly, maple cheese curds, and fried onions; the butternut squash gnocchi; and the Brussels sprouts. Yeah, you read right—the Brussels sprouts. We never thought this leafy green could taste so good! If you like Buffalo sauce, blue cheese, Asiago, and melt-in-your-mouth gooey goodness, this dish is a definite must-try.

When we made our way to the bar, we were greeted with the cocktail du soir: a tasty mix of cava, rhum, passion fruit, and homegrown rosemary. Aside from the generous and delicious grub and cocktails, we especially loved being able to watch the progression of a live painting on one of the restaurant’s main entrance walls.

As one of Montreal’s first restaurants to highlight the pairing of burgers with bubbly155 Fahrenheit definitely brings something new to the table. Their ultimate dining experience: a gourmet burger prepared with the perfect homemade bun, crispy fries, and a toasty glass of cava or champagne. Their menu also offers a variety of seasonal dishes and seafood, all prepared daily in-house using the freshest ingredients. Adding to the bubbly-inspired theme is their vast list of exclusive beer, cava, and prosecco-based cocktails featuring a selection of homemade simple syrups and herbs.

If you’re thinking 155 Fahrenheit grows its selection of herbs in a typical outdoor garden, think again. The soon-to-be hotspot boasts Montreal’s first vertical hydroponic herb rack, which is visible right as you walk in. The impressive rack currently cultivates rosemary and thyme, but this selection will grow drastically by summertime with the addition of mint, oregano, verbena, anise, dill, lavender, tarragon, and sage. Yum.

Open 7 days a week, 155 Fahrenheit offers a casual, yet bustling, dining experience that is perfect for a business lunch, a celebratory dinner, or a 5 à 7. With warm weather right around the corner, a refreshing glass of bubbly is the perfect way to celebrate the start of summer!
