Picture this: you are walking along Bernard street in the trendy Outremont area, the beautiful sunshine on your face, and you are feeling the need to stop for a treat and coffee or maybe even sit down for some brunch. Just turn your head and there you will find the beautiful La Rouladerie.

Down a few steps, this pastry shop and café is the perfect stop, with indoor and outdoor seating. Montreal is a foodie’s wonderland, we know that, but there is no doubt that this pastry shop should be on your list of “Brunches to Try”. Their menu is simple but delicious.

This family-owned café specializes in gourmet French and Iranian desserts, but do not underestimate their brunch. On their brunch menu, you’ll find items like omelettes and crepes; they even drizzle chocolate on your fruit skewer without you needing to ask #browniepoints.

Their brunch is classic but with a flavourful twist and the price is right for the portions. Their espresso is wonderfully nutty and makes for a great paring with any breakfast or pastry.

This café gets their name from their “roulades” which, if you can imagine, are like rolled up cakes with cream or meringue that come in a variety of flavours. For those of you who are constantly on the move, this café also allows you to pick a “lunch box” combination of goodies and take it to go (how considerate!). Tourist or local, if you’ve got taste buds, add this one to the list!
