The MEG Festival is back for its 16th edition, Bruno Mars & Pharrell Williams are under one roof, and Kanye West collaborator Hudson Mohawke plans to bring down the house at the SAT. It’s time to get Your Music Fix for the week of July 20th to 26th:

Seattle rapper Grieves already has four albums under his belt but is still converting new fans at every step. His new album Winter & The Wolves has garnered significant attention and it’ll be interesting to see how he performs at La Sala Rossa with fellow Seattle rapper Fearce Vill and Vancouver’s SonReal.

After taking an extended break from music, Justin Miner recruited his wife and brother to create an indie folk-rock band that better represented where he now found himself musically. Miner has since expanded into a full-fledged touring band and is now promoting their recently released debut album Into The Morning. If you’re a fan of Of Monsters and Men or Mumford & Sons, you’re going to want to be at La Vitrola.

After two years of hard work, Montreal pop-rock trio Velvet Noise is ready to hit the road and share what they’ve been working on. They’ve asked Quebec City’s country-rock band June21 to join them for their show at Casa Del Popolo.

Two of this year’s biggest male popstars are hitting up the Bell Centre. No biggie. Although his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox was released nearly two years ago, Bruno Mars is only recently picking up steam. Now on his second headlining tour in support of said album, he decided to ask none other than Pharrell Williams to join him. If there’s any name in pop that has been uttered more often than Bruno’s, it’s definitely Pharrell’s.

If you’re into hip hop then tonight’s your night. If you’re looking for instrumentals, than look no further than the SAT where half of now defunct group TNGHT, and notable Kanye West collaborator, Hudson Mohawke will be playing. Supporting his set will be Belgian producer Dave Luxe, M.Bootyspoon, and artists from the MELT MTL crew. If you’re looking to support the local Montreal hip hop scene, then the MEG Festival has got you covered with Les Anticipateurs, The Posterz, and J.u.D. all performing at La Sala Rossa.

A trio of very exciting Montreal alternative electro-pop-rock artists are performing at La Sala Rossa as part of the MEG Festival. After the release of her debut EP in 2012, MH Delorme’s FOXTROTT has been slowly garnering interest and anticipation is high for her forthcoming debut LP. Propofol were a huge hit at the 2011 edition of MEG and they’re back again this year, with their debut album just around the corner. Mozart’s Sister, solo project of Montreal’s Caila Thompson-Hannant, is a name that’s been on everyone’s lips for a hot minute now, and understandably so. Her brand of off-kilter pop has attracted the attention of FADER and Pitchfork, not to mention a record deal with Paper Bag Records, home of the likes of Sam Roberts and Austra.

The MEG Festival goes rock for a night with Suuns, Technical Kidman, and Seoul taking over the SAT. Known mostly for left-leaning pop and electronic music, MEG has always maintained an eclectic ethos, as attested by their lineup every year. Montreal’s electro-krautrock Suuns are always a particular hit at festivals and it’s nice to have them back on home turf alongside other local favourites.
