Theatre season will be getting a hot start with the hilarious play Damn Those Wedding Bells! Presented by Pelligrini Productions, this sure-to-be smash hit will be playing this September at the Leonardo Da Vinci Centre. Written by Tony Calabretta and directed by Antonio Diverdis (two proud Montrealers), this theatrical dream team is responsible for last year’s success Don’t Blame It On The Stork, so you know you’re in for a good laugh!

This isn’t the first time Damn Those Wedding Bells has appeared on the Montreal stage. It’s already had countless sold out showings at both the Centaur and Segal theatres. It was also translated to French and has had great success with both English and French audiences.

The play centers around Anthony Robertini (played by Calabretta) and his eccentric family as they prepare for the wedding of Anthony’s younger sister. A long with the madness of a wedding is Anthony’s meddling mother who’s more concerned with finding a wedding date for her bachelor son than the actual celebration itself. What’s supposed to be a time of merriment has now turned into madness and confusion! A relatable story for any Italian-Montrealer trying to plan a wedding, this play is guaranteed to not only be hilarious but heart-warming as well.

Calabretta is joined onstage with a multi-talented cast that include: Shawn Campbell, Guido Cocomello, Ariane Castellanos, Christina Filippidis, Dawn Ford, Mary Long, and Eleanor Noble. Calabretta and Diverdis always bring lively and memorable characters to the theatre stage. Theatregoers can also make an evening of their night out by dining at one of Saint-Leonard’s many restaurants or at the Bistro inside the Da Vinci Centre.
