You may recognize Grumman 78 as the pioneer to the food truck craze. Their lime coloured truck is hard to miss, and once you give in to their delicious tacos, you’ll be sure never to miss them again. Due to their enormous popularity on wheels, they figured it was time to expand and include a full-fledged restaurant to their business repertoire.

Located in the trendy St-Henri borough, Grumman 78 converted an old garage into a stylish restaurant with a grungy feel. The picnic tables and brick walls definitely add a special touch, while their menu is a definite hit. Their Fluke Ceviche ($9) is always a great place to start. Prepared with pomegranate, fresh herbs, and croutons, the ceviche (fresh raw fish ‘salad’ usually cured in citrus juices) is light and tangy, making for the perfect palate cleanser.

When it comes to the mains at Grumman 78, it’s hard to stay away from their most popular dish: the Banh-mi Taco ($10). Served with hoisin sauce, pickled daikon and carrots, the succulent pulled pork is housed in a light, soft taco shell that’ll make you wish you had at least three more. Another excellent choice would be their Roasted Duck & Chilaquiles ($24). Chilaquiles is a popular Mexican dish including corn tortilla chips, salsa verde, and in Grumman’s case, a fried egg with jalapeno and fresh onion. The duck is roasted to perfection and the chips and salsa add the perfect punch to the whole dish.

Whether it be a simple dinner for two or a large celebration wherein you would like to rent out the restaurant, Grumman 78 will gladly accommodate you. Their friendly wait staff, delicious food, and trendy ambiance will surely have you coming back for more. Also, be sure to check out the location of their food truck on their website.
