The Just for Laughs festival is currently in full swing with humourous individuals bringing smiles and laughter to Montrealers across the city. Classically funny individuals like Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Aziz Anzari, Russell Peters, Iliza Shlesinger, and more are sure to put anyone in a good mood with their gags and jokes.
Miranda Sings will be bringing a musical touch to the festival with her performance at the Metropolis theatre on Saturday, July 26. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, Miranda Sings is a multi-talented singer, who rose to fame thanks to YouTube. She currently has over 1.6 million subscribers and over 150 million total views on YouTube.
Her usual performances mainly consist of a combination of magic tricks, hate mail readings, and melodious song covers and renditions. Miranda posts many cover videos on YouTube where she sings hit songs in her own personal style and flair. Her theatrical attitude, bold make-up, and colourful wardrobe selection always garner a lot of attention. Her other videos include tutorials and challenges.
She often gets criticized for her singing technique as many enviously claim that she sings flatly and has horrible diction. Another repeated remark is that her vibrato is appalling. Miranda is nonetheless a courageous individual who continues to upload videos on a regular basis for those who wish to support her.
If you’d like to be the judge of her singing capabilities and of her other talents, be sure to purchase tickets for the show. You can act as a television show judge and be as British and impetuous as you’d like.
Miranda Sings will be performing alongside Coleen Ballinger, another talented YouTube singer with incredible range and a silky tone. We’re looking forward to a duet featuring both of these singers on what is going to be an absolutely hysterical afternoon!
