SVR Children’s Foundation threw their lavish soirée and we’re still reeling. Months of work and preparation created an outstanding event that may be tough to beat (but we’re up for the challenge!). A Night at the Museum, sponsored by PVH, benefitting the Montreal Children’s Hospital’s Complex Care Services, was located at the incredible Musée Grévin on September 16th, 2016.
Local businesses, talent, and personalities all participated and are what made this event the success that it was. The fundraising goal was $35 000… did we make it? Keep reading to find out!
Guests were brought up the stairs to start their tour of the museum. They were first greeted with a cocktail from Brahm Mauer (no party is complete without delicious mixology). They saw Quebec personalities and sports legends, and had some deliciously sinful porchetta from Fiorellino while they browsed.
Next, they saw some British royalty, and meandered into John Lennon’s bedroom, where they sampled mac ‘n cheese topped with avocado, tomatoes, edamame beans, and Doritos (yes, Doritos) from Daylight Factory.
Vertu was set up in the Alfred Hitchcock room, complete with creepy shower scene, black crows, and an unsettling Hitchcock chilling in a chair, staring. But Vertu‘s fresh salad bar was a hit!
Under the sea, you could find Traiteur Brera with their gourmet cavatelli with goat cheese and mushrooms. We are just drooling remembering that heavenly pasta!
In the carnival room, in between Justin Bieber and Charlie Chaplin, Bretzel et Compagnie was set up with their salty and sweet bretzels. To complete the carnival atmosphere, Dillalo Burgers served their signature burgers with capicollo and hot peppers to everyone’s delight.
Finally, before the opulent ballroom, Falafel Avenue was set up with delicious mini falafel sandwiches and sfouf cakes that were gobbled up in no time!
Mehendi by Jessica was sharing her talent with the ladies with beautiful hennas done throughout the night. We even had a wandering magician, The Amazing Todsky, who dazzled and amazed guests with his tricks!
Guests flocked the silent auction and raffle table, as we had amazing prizes from Air Canada, ViaRail, Ella Dugré, Cavallo Designs, DiCarlo Couture, Seasalt & Ceviche, Ristorante Lucca, Evenko, Gaudi, Rubino Collection, Salon Pure, Nuva Beauty and Spa, Rustique Pies, hockey paraphernalia, and so much more! We spotted some eager guests with dozens of raffle tickets, so it’s no surprise they took home prizes.
In the ballroom, where celebrity crushes Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Ryan Gosling were hanging out (somewhat stiffly), desserts, coffee, and cocktails abounded!
Brahm Mauer took charge of the main bar with more of his delicious mixology along with a vodka and gin bar courtesy of Pur Vodka and Romeo’s Gin, respectively.
For dessert, Bars Boutique had delectable brownies, chocolate bark, and so much more! Lafrenaie had their famous Nutella horns along with custom SVR Children’s Foundation cookies (aren’t we spoiled?).
Finally, Patisserie Petit Lapin had their adorable allergen-free cupcakes and sweets to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth!
To wash it all down, Baristello the great took charge of the espresso bar, serving both hot and cold coffee for all. Pag & Mylo threw down the beats all night, with people dancing and singing along.
On stage, we were lucky enough to have Laura Casella from Breakfast Television Montreal as host. SVR Children’s Foundation founder Jenn Ruvo gave a few words of thanks to her sponsors. We even got to get Stefano, the little man of the hour, up on stage for a few (brief) words.
Guests went home with custom SVR gift bags including promo cards by N2 by Nüva and cookies from Yes Please Mtl and Bar à Beurre.
At the end of the day, however, what we really want to know is if we reached our fundraising goal of $35 000. Well, we not only reached it, but we surpassed it! We raised $50 000!! We couldn’t be happier, and it is only further motivation to do even better next year!
