Chez Dallaire is one of those places you’ve seen as you pass by daily but never think to try. It is small, unassuming, and so easily underestimated. Because in actual fact, Chez Dallaire is easily one of the best pubs in Point Saint-Charles and those who walk in will always come back. So, as the pub was celebrating its 2nd anniversary, they were also introducing us to their impossible terrace. Why impossible? Because it is the only restaurant on Wellington to have a terrace north of Autoroute 20.

Chez Daillaire is a great pub with interesting drinks that make you take notice of them. Whether it’s their signature margarita, the sweet and spicy Smokeshow ($12) with Montreal’s own Smoke Show jalapeño hot sauce, or its pitchers of red and white sangria ($24), they have what it takes to keep you refreshed all summer. On top of that, it has a flurry of local beers, including their own La Dallaire ($6). If neither of those are your thing, Chez Dallaire has a huge bar and some great bartenders ready to whip up whatever your drink is.

Chez Dallaire also sports some very interesting food. They have some excellent salmon tartare with a refreshing lime and avocado mix as well as some great chorizo sausage nachos ($9.50) with uncharacteristically delicious chips. The edamame with teriyaki sauce ($8.50) are quite unique as sucking on the beans to get at the delicious interior will also now earn you a sweet and salty sauce too. Just don’t expect your fingers to stay clean.

In the heartier section of their menu, they also have some truly tasty burgers on bretzel buns ($9) and a stunning giant Hot Dog Deluxe ($11) complete with pico de gallo, avocado, and white Alabama-style BBQ sauce. This hot dog may very well have been one of the best we have ever tasted. Hot dogs are easy to make but incredibly difficult to master. Chez Dallaire has reached that master level.

Finally, Chez Dallaire is more than just a terrace and 5 à 7. It is also open late as it is a bar after all! The interior with its wide bar area and booths in the back look like they are ready to host any kind of night until deep into the AM. If the social media shared parties, DJs, and live music are any indication, we will definitely be visiting this Point Saint-Charles staple for some late nights.
