The newest addition to this main street is M Salon. M Salon is a hip, cool hair and nail salon created by Laurent and Arie Benechetrit. The Brenchetrit brothers originally founded M Salon when they realized that there were no nail salons or spas in the ever popular Griffintown. Due to the success of their Griffintown location, the duo felt inspired to expand and branch out, hitting Montreal’s current hot spot, Pointe Nord in Nuns Island.
M Salon in Pointe Nord is a modern yet affordable salon with services that include manicure/pedicures, haircuts, blowouts, highlights, extensions, threading, and waxing. Men are also catered and cared for at M Salon, with their version of the MENIcure, the ultimate in male pampering.
Walking in, one notices not only the sleek, contemporary black and white decor (reminiscent of their sister location), but also the staff who have mastered the balance of being knowledgeable and fashionable at the same time. M Salon also sets itself apart in the brands that they carry and use throughout the salon. Move over O.P.I and Redken; popular high-end quality brands in nail and hair care such as CND’S Vinylux, Trust Fund Beauty, Morrrocan Oil, and Blow Pro to name a few, fill the shelves.
The Brenchetrit brothers also had their creative juices flowing with Maniglam, the custom nail gel they created that hits the trifecta in nail care: a rainbow of colours to choose from, a beautiful finish, and colour that lasts up to two weeks, with a bonus of ZERO drying time (that makes four wonderful qualities – even better!).
Oh, and did we mention, they also serve free wine while you’re getting all dolled up. All this is a relaxing and inviting environment. Sounds like a perfect way to spend the day before you hit the terraces in Montreal (or the ones in Pointe Nord!). If the launch was any indicator, M Salon is a much needed addition to the up and coming neighbourhood. M Salon is open from Wednesday to Sunday; come with an appointment or drop in on a whim!
