The winter months often mean excess lethargy, laziness, and – let’s face it – food. We all tend to eat heartier and richer (and fattier) foods in the colder months. Montreal is cold, and we deserve a treat! But at the same time, chilly weather doesn’t mean we should let ourselves go.

If you’re lacking motivation to stay fit this winter, consider signing up for group classes that’ll get you moving and will work off that mac & cheese from last night. b.cycle offers dynamic spinning classes that’ll whip you up into tip top shape.

The Montreall.com team was lucky to try out one of their spin classes and we were in for a beating! Our instructor, Bijan, set the mood with low lighting and blood pumping beats. One of the fun elements of b.cycle is their b.tracker live statistics board and a personalized online performance tracker. When you first go to b.cycle, create an account with your personal information, and they’ll track your performance for you!

Their b.tracker live statistics board also provides some friendly competition during class. You can see your speed and resistance on the board next to everyone else’s. It sets apart the seasoned cyclers from the beginners, but if you’re competitive, it’ll only motivate you to do better! We may or may not have enjoyed some friendly competition among the team. Let’s just say the girls kicked ass.

b.cycle also makes it easy by providing nearly everything. They supply cycling shoes, towels, and digital locks, so all you have to do is bring your energy and your A-game.

The classes are 45 minutes long and the time truly does fly by. The workout is a combination of cycling and simple weight exercises. You’ve never felt a heavier 8 lbs dumbbell than in this class. They look small, but you’ll leave with your arms feeling very sore (in a good way).

We really enjoyed our experience at b.cycle. If you’re into cycling or just want to try something new, check out b.cycle. Your first class is free! Time to get your sweat on!
