Another month, another music fix! It’s time to get warm with some good music in the city of Montreal. November marks another month of spectacular shows to check out, from James Bay down at the Metropolis to The Weeknd lighting up the Bell Centre. Check out this month’s music fix:

Halsey

Marina and The Diamonds

Marina and The Diamonds will be playing at the Metropolis Nov 3rd for their Neon Nature Tour! The electro pop group’s most recent album Froot debuted in the 8th spot of the Billboard 200 chart.

Cyril Hahn

École Privée Nightclub will be hosting Swiss house DJ Cyril Hahn. His Destiny’s Child remix of “Say My Name” has amassed 15 million on the popular YouTube channel Majestic Casual. For the night lifers and the house music fans alike, expect a dope set from Cyril Hahn.

Three Days Grace

Canadian rock band Three Days Grace is back with a new vocalist and their new album Human. The band has accomplished a lot in their early years going platinum many times and they’ll be rocking the Metropolis Friday, November 6th.

Sander Van Doorn

Dutch electro house DJ and producer Sander Van Doorn is one of the most accomplished music artists of the EDM scene. With a rich history of ranking on DJMag’s Top 100 DJs list and an array of dope remixes, Sander Van Doorn is a must see. He’ll be dropping a set down at New City Gas the first week of November.

Infected Mushroom

New City Gas is always bringing the heat. Infected Mushroom will be playing their psychedelic electronica style in the warehouse that is NCG. Their unique sounds and mixes are a change of pace for the usual EDM fans.

3LAU

American progressive house producer and DJ 3LAU will be playing a set down at New City Gas. Known for sampling and using Ableton, 3LAU’s live sets are always on point. He also has a hit single with local duo Paris & Simo featuring Bright Lights.

James Bay

James Bay took the world by storm with his indie folk rock style. His album Chaos and The Calm debuted at #1 in multiple countries while his singles Let It Go and Hold Back The River scaled the charts. Along with his smooth sounds, his flow of hair and signature hat gives him the Hozier/John Mayer look.

Nate Ruess

Lead man for indie pop band Fun, Nate Ruess is taking his career the solo route. Most famous for their album “Some Nights” and especially their single We Are Young, which helped them become nominated and win numerous Grammys.

K-OS

K-OS is one of Canada’s more known hip-hop artists before the Drake era. With 6 studio albums, K-OS is also a producer that taps into the funk, rock, and reggae genres. This is a show for the old school hip-hop heads.

The Posterz

Speaking of old school, The Posterz are the opposite of that. These local guys are a rap group from Montreal and have played shows and festivals across Canada. One thing you’ll find in their visuals is that Montreal scenery.

Grimes

Grimes is another Canadian making it in the big scene. Claire Boucher aka Grimes studied at McGill University while working with her music. Her electro pop sounds make for a good listen any time of the day.

Vicetone

Dutch duo Vicetone started their career young as 15 year-old EDM fans. Now in recent years, their music has been on fire hitting the charts everywhere. You’ll find these guys playing at the biggest festivals like Ultra and Tomorrowland but this month, they’ll be at New City Gas!

The Weeknd

Scarborough/Toronto native The Weeknd is undoubtedly one of the most hyped up artists at the moment. Whatever he touches seems to turn into gold. Not only is he a fan favourite but he’s also a favourite among his peers, collaborating with many musical artists to create instant hits.

Dragonette
