P. F. Chang’s China Bistro is a trendy American restaurant chain that arrived to Montreal in the summer of 2013. High ceilings, cobblestone columns and a large hanging mural give P.F. Chang’s a modern, inviting, and grand allure. Let’s get something straight, P.F. Chang’s is not an authentic Chinese restaurant, nor does it claim to be. Rather, its unique cuisine incorporates both Chinese and American influences; P.F. Chang’s is Chinese Fusion. To start off your meal, order Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps, a known favourite among guests. Given the family-style menu, you’ll want to order more than one plate: it’s a sharing game at Chang’s so if you’re not into that you’ll be missing out on all the must-try flavours. Suggested: the Mongolian Beef (wok-seared and served with scallions), Sweet & Sour Chicken (stir-fried with ginger, pineapple, onions and peppers), Shrimp With Candied Walnuts (with cream sauce and honeydew), and Red Chili Shrimp With Noodles (a spicy favourite). Also, check out their vegetarian and gluten-free options. Let us be clear, almost everything at Chang’s is amazing, several trips will be necessary to taste it all.

For bigger groups, don’t worry about having to pass plates around; you’ll be seated on big round tables with a rotating centre, making sharing a much easier task. If by some miracle you aren’t too full after your meal, try one of the dessert shooters! These tiny little desserts are too good to pass up on, especially the Red Velvet. For those much bigger appetites, The Great Wall of Chocolate is a must. Big enough for 3 people to share, it’s actually quite affordable…and quite amazing. If you’re running late for dinner over the weekend or your work keeps you going late into the night, not to worry: the kitchen stays open until 12:00am on Fridays and Saturdays.
