Montreal can’t seem to get enough of Bonobo, this being his second visit in less than a year. The UK DJ will be joined by Krystale at the Métropolis, as part of the Jazz Festival. Head to the Place des Spectacles to catch hip hop supergroup Deltron 3030, comprised of Kid Koala, Del The Funky Homosapien, and Dan The Automator, who close off the Jazz Festival in smashing fashion.

Time for some throwback roots music at Le Petit Campus where Pokey Lafarge will be performing with The Ever Lovin’ Jug Band. The Bloomington, IL 5-piece band, who have Jack White as a fan, are back in town promoting their most recent self-titled album released on Jack White’s Third Man Records.

The Moon Rang Like A Bell, the new album by Florida “folktronica” 4-piece Hundred Waters, has been garnering rave reviews across the board and rightfully so. The band’s North American tour brings them to Il Motore, accompanied by another critically acclaimed electronic act, Montreal-native Mas Ysa. This is not a show you’re going to want to miss. The Métropolis welcomes OFWGWKTA ringleader Tyler, The Creator for what’s sure to be a most interesting and rowdy performance.

Local music collective Bolting Bits are holding the second edition of their musical event at Le Divan Orange. Considering that the show is only $5 and boasts sets from Lexic, Tronald Trump, and h u g., this is sure to be a great time. Meanwhile, American alt-rockers Queens of the Stone Age bring their massive tour in support of Like Clockwork to the Bell Centre, accompanied by legendary singer-songwriter Brody Dalle.

Atmosph’Air continue their yearly tradition of offering a series of fantastic free live shows during their Plaza St-Hubert street sale. Thursday’s offering includes Drummondville-native folk singer David Marin, who is about to release his sophomore album later this fall, and Montreal-favourites Les Soeurs Boulay. The Nuits D’Afrique Festival welcomes Joe Driscoll and Sekou Kouyaté to Club Balattou to perform their blend of afrobeat, hip-hop, folk, and reggae.

The Atmosph’Air free shows continue on Friday, this time with local indie-rock band We Are Wolves and our favourite weirdo Socalled. The Cabaret du Mile-End will be host to another Nuits D’Afrique show, Montreal multilingual super group Nomadic Massive.

We’ve got no shortage of options for Saturday, including a free Piknic Électronik as part of Les Weekends du Monde at Parc Jean Drapeau, with sets by Speakeasy Electro Swing and Kode 9, amongst many others. The Cabaret Underworld welcomes Scandinavian teenage rapping sensation Yung Lean, accompanied by our very own Raw Records crew. Miniature Tigers brings its Cruel Runnings tour to La Vitrola alongside The Griswolds. And The Pizza Underground, the music-comedy crew that includes Macaulay Culkin, will be bringing their Velvet Underground-parodying project to Il Motore.
