Baldwin’s Barmacie is definitely one of the trendiest bars in the Mile End/Plateau neighbourhood. The name “Barmacie” lends itself to the underlying concept of the establishment, which, as you may have guessed, emulates your typical 20’s pharmacy. A predominantly white theme, white ceramic tiles, and shelves stacked with what appears to be medicine bottles (actually alcohol) ingeniously suggest that you’ve entered Baldwin’s to pick up a prescription. What you will find at Baldwin’s is a mixed crowd made out of mainly young professionals, hipsters and average Joes, enjoying a laid back and lively atmosphere. The menu features an exciting array of cocktails, varying from Peach Bellinis to dirty martinis as well as a number of in-house creations. A mix of indie, pop and electro music does well in complementing the lounge vibe that Baldwin’s exudes. If you get hungry, snack on the mac & cheese or grilled cheese sandwich. This is an ideal location for a 5 à 7 with coworkers or a night on the town with friends; what’s more Baldwin’s stays open until 3:00am, 7 days a week. With all this to offer and more, Baldwin’s may just be the kind of prescription you need.
