Something that will get Montrealers screaming in delight, the Eureka! Festival is returning to Montreal’s Centre des Sciences for its 9th edition. With over 88,000 visitors last year, it’s easy to see why Eureka! is one of the largest science festivals around . Remember how much fun it was watching Bill Nye The Science Guy or Wild Kratts? Imagine three whole days of that. It’s a great event for families that parents will enjoy just as much (if not more) than the children.

The Eureka! Festival is a great way to get kids interested in science and to bring out the inner nerd in anyone. With games and activities that challenge both the mind and body, families can learn while having fun at the same time, proving that knowledge doesn’t always have to be boring. This educational festival will certainly be more interesting than any dull ol’ science class. Children will actually want to go, and not just because of that cute classmate.

Eureka! not only gets kids interested, it also promotes careers in both science and technology. The next great brain or inventor could be right here in our fair city. Attendees can interact with scientists, inventors, see live shows and demonstrations, as well as get inspired with the festival’s many hands on activities.

With over 100 activities to choose from, one day at Eureka! may not be enough. What’s great about this event is that kids can focus on their interests or discover a completely new one. If you’re going to learn something new, you may as well have fun doing it. From marine biology to debunking some of the greatest myths in science, there’s literally something for everyone at Eureka!.

Eureka! is not only a fun event but an environmentally friendly one as well. Recycle bins can be found everywhere and they use the most natural of materials for all their shows and activities. Entrance to the festival is free, and food and beverage services will be available. Due to Eureka!’s popularity and high amount of attendees, it’s recommended to use public transportation to get there. You’d not only be doing a service to the environment but also have less frustration and save money on parking fees.

The festival will be held on June 12th from 9:30am to 3:30pm, June 13th from 10:30am to 7:30pm and June 14th from 10:30am to 6:00pm. But the fun doesn’t end there. With the help of government funding, programs and activities occur all year round so the learning can continue on way after the festival.
