Move for a Cure is dedicated to making Montrealers move and stay active, all while raising money for an incredible cause. Throughout the year, they host multiple events benefitting various charities, each one more fun than the last. This time, they are raising money for the Foundation CHU Sainte-Justine in collaboration with Town of Mount Royal, TD TMR, Équipe Bardagi, and others.
This next event is on Saturday, July 8th, from 9am to 4pm on the corner of Dumfries Rd and Dobie Ave in Mont-Royal. In case of rain, the event will be moved to July 9th. There will be food trucks on hand for snacking post fitness classes. SmoothFruit and Point Sans G will be on hand to satisfy your cravings. MFAC will be giving out coconut waters by Buddha Brands Co. to those who purchased their tickets online.
The fitness classes available are: Yoga, High Intensity Circuit, Zumba, Essentrics, Fun & Fitness, and Insanity. The classes are being led by some of Montreal’s great fitness trainers such as BELÉM Café & Yoga, KinCo, Mambo Fit Studio, and more! Find the full schedule on their Facebook Event Page.
If you’re a tennis pro or enthusiast, you’ll want to join their Round-Robin Doubles Tournament! The winning prize is Rogers Cup Tickets sponsored by Tennis Canada! With your $35 tennis ticket, you get to take part in the tournament and play 4 matches, you get a free BBQ lunch, and a free Leonidas ice cream coupon! The kids can also play tennis from 9am to 12pm.
If you haven’t purchased tickets to the fitness classes, make sure you bring cash with you to buy a spot in a class or to take part in other activities, all benefitting the CHU Sainte-Justine. There will be face-painting, tattoos, and inflatable games for the kids. And if you’re feeling lucky, awesome raffle prizes can be won!
So suit up, wear sports clothes (and bring a towel – you’re gonna sweat!), and come enjoy fitness classes and activities for the whole family!
