Lately, we’ve been getting our comedy fix thanks to hilarious Saturday Night Live election spoofs (and the actual election itself, which is basically an act of comedy on its own). For those of you who need a break from political satire, there’s another way you can get your laugh on this month! Come check out the bilingual and multicultural comedy show Haboob & Laloos on Saturday, October 29th at the Patro le Prevost Center on boulevard Christophe Colombe.

Haboob & Laloos has a great line-up of fantastic up-and-coming talent as well as veterans from the world of comedy. The performers each have their own unique brand of comedy and stage presence. The show’s host is Emile Khoury, who’s been gracing the Montreal comedy stage for over 3 years and has made appearances at Zoofest, Festival Libanais, and Festival du Monde Arabe.

Emile will be joined by newcomers Dixit Patel and Laurent Hallee. There will also be Anas Hassouna, who is the host of a weekly show at L’Abreuvoir as well as his own web series, Pause Kawha. Next we have Chris Sandiford, who appeared at Zoofest, Just For Laughs, and Sketchfest, just to name a few.

The evening’s headliner will be the hilarious Simon Gouache. Simon was named Revelation Juste Pour Rire and is hard at work on his own one-man show. Along with loads of laughter, audience members will also be treated to some sweet sounds thanks to DJ Rocky spinning great tunes all night.

It’s no secret that the beauty of Montreal is how multicultural this city is and it’s always a fun time when mixed cultures come together to have a good laugh! Thanks to shows like the Ethnic Show and Bad Boys of Comedy, everyone enjoys ethnic humour and laughing at themselves (and others!). Humour really brings everyone together and also makes us realize that we’re not that different after all.

Tickets are only $15 ($20 at the door), but the cost for a fun filled night with plenty of laughter is priceless. The show starts at 7:30pm and doors will be open at 6:30pm.
