Right next to Jacques-Cartier Bridge, West of Bellerive Park, currently stands a vacant lot used to accumulate piles upon piles of snow throughout the winter season. This summer however, the ADUC organization, in association with the borough of Ville-Marie, will be installing a recreational space available all summer long. The project will be the first of its kind in Montreal, hosting spaces for sports, an outdoor theater, a beach, as well as art installations. The space will also play host to multiple food trucks, a series of cultural activities, and wait for it, a bar!  Called ”Le Village Éphémère”, the new project will also aim to feature some of Montreal’s top urban designers. ADUQ is inviting all urban designers to participate in the conception of the space for a chance to showcase their work. The deadline to participate in the project is May 18th. Village Éphémère will be open on the 20th of June 2014. According to ADUQ, for the time being, the space will be available until the end of August and only during days when Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec will be hosting their firework shows.
