The Red Bull Music Academy is back in Montreal, hosting another one of their Bass Camp music festivals starting this week. Last year’s success gave us names like Killer Mike, DJ Yella, Araabmuzik, along with hometown favourites Lunice, Tommy Kruise, and High Klassified. This year might be even bigger!

Starting tonight, you can check out Jacques Green dropping some sick beats down alongside Ango at SAT (Société des Arts Technologiques). This show starts at 9:00pm and you can still buy tickets here.

More about Red Bull’s Music Academy: the Academy is a collective of 60 participants consisting of producers, DJs, vocalists, instrumentalists, and all around musical artists. Every year, this collective travels to a new city to collaborate in producing, recording, and sharing of ideas, all while performing in the city’s hottest clubs and music halls. It’s a gathering of musical talent. Since it’s beginning in 1998, they’ve been trekking the globe, with hosting cities like Berlin, Sao Paolo, London, Toronto, and more. Notable past participants include A Trak, Erykah Badu, Kardinal Offishall, M.I.A, Lunice, and many more.

For their world-travelling series, they host pop up shows in cities across the globe. Being one of these cities and having a whole weekend dedicated to the festival really shows how great the Montreal music scene is.
