With all the summer festivals, new restaurants, and bars to try out, sometimes it’s difficult for a Montrealer to squeeze in a workout (all while soaking up some sun). Kill two birds with one stone and get your tan and fitness on simultaneously on your lunch hour or after work by doing one of the many outdoor workout classes our city offers.

Here is a taste of some of the awesome drop-in outdoor fitness classes offered in the greater Montreal area.


FitClub 24

FitClub 24 is a nutrition center offering a wide variety of drop-in classes for $8. The price includes a pre-workout tea and a post-workout protein shake. Join in on large group-sized classes with enthusiastic and motivating coaches who take you through circuit training stations at the Dorchester Square Park or cardiovascular-intensive running and stair climbing classes at the Peel entrance of Mont-Royal. Circuit classes focus on major muscle group stations and abdominal specific exercises for about 45 minutes.

Lemieux Training

Lemieux Training boasts dynamic and large group-fitness classes using equipment such as kettlebells and resistance bands to deliver an hour-long high-impact workout in the beautiful setting of Mont Royal and Murray Hill Park in Westmount. The drop-in rate is $10 but bundle courses can be purchased as well. The coaches are very attentive with a tough love approach to training. X-Fit St Laurent

X-Fit St Laurent takes your group from St Laurent boulevard to Mount Royal for a grueling hour and half class. Expect a challenging cardiovascular workout with fit participants and knowledgeable coaches. Try your first class for the $10 drop-in rate. If you like the burn and the pain you feel, there are package deals available for those who dare return.

Come&Train Bootcamp

Come&Train Bootcamp offers bootcamp classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants in 5 major parks across Montreal: Mont Royal, Jarry, Lafontaine, Laurier, and Maisonneuve. Sweat through military-style intense training that can be tailored up or down by the coaches to match the physical capabilities of the participant. The workouts are done on playground equipment and benches with the additional use of TRX straps and ropes. There is a free first class promotion if you book in advance; otherwise, there is a $15 drop-in fee.

Moksha yoga (NDG studio)

Moksha Yoga in NDG offers a bootcamp and circuit style drop-in ($10) outdoor course (across the street from their studio) using bodyweight for all movements. They provide a low key and welcoming vibe and are open to individuals of all levels of fitness. Some classes are taught by yoga instructors with an added emphasis on proper and safe technique for all workout positions. Join in on the body transformation challenge and complete bootcamp classes as part of your fitness component. Top off your workout with a relaxing hot yoga class to get an extra hour of sweat or added stretch for your muscles.
