August might as well be renamed “Evenko Month” seeing as they pretty much dominate the musical calendar for its entirety: whether it’s official pre-shows or after-parties, or their three major festivals, Osheaga, Heavy Montréal, and ÎleSoniq, chances are you’ll be at one of their events. Time to get your Music Fix for August!

Style: A little bit of everything from everywhere
Known For: Osheaga always has one of the strongest lineups in North America, and for their 10th edition they’ve booked over 100 artists. Expect to see international superstars like The Black Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Florence + the Machine, and Nas performing alongside indie favourites like FKA Twigs, BANKS, St. Vincent, Father John Misty, and Run The Jewels. Be sure to support our Canadian talent by seeing Caribou, Patrick Watson, Milk & Bone, Karim Ouellet, Alvvays, A Tribe Called Red, and Ariane Moffatt.

Known For: Arguably one of the hardest rock festivals in North America, Heavy Montréal always books a wide range of heavy hitters. This year sees performances by Slipknot, Korn, Faith No More, Iggy Pop, Lamb of God, Deafheaven, and Lita Ford.

Style: EDM, hip-hop
Known For: The third and newest jewel in Evenko’s crown of large-scale music festivals, ÎleSoniq capitalizes on the never-ending thirst for EDM and throws in a few hip-hop artists to switch things up a bit. Their second edition welcomes acts like deadmau5, Azealia Banks, Flosstradamus, Die Antwoord, Above & Beyond, Busy P, and Kaskade.
