We already know what you’re thinking, there’s no such thing as a healthy breakfast/brunch spot, right? Wrong!

Originally opening up shop in Rosemère, Au P’tit Cochon Santé was a little bit out of the comfort zone of anyone living on the island of Montreal. However, since introducing their second location in Saint-Henri about a year ago, it has become a favourite amongst Montrealers seeking a healthier alternative. Au P’tit Cochon also takes reservations on weekdays which is always an added bonus considering most breakfast/brunch spots are first come, first serve. We suggest you use that tool, they get that packed!

Au P’tit Cochon Santé takes a spin on traditional breakfast dishes opting for healthier ingredients; so don’t show up expecting a classic plate of greasy bacon and eggs, because you will be disappointed. At P’tit Cochon you’ll find reinvented dishes using fresh and organic products. Their menu is subject to change each Spring and Winter, adapting their dishes to what’s provided locally and in season.

If you find yourself a little more than hungry, satisfy your appetite with one of their French toast options. Expect toppings like melted chocolate and strawberries for a sweet version or the aged cheddar cheese, warm apples with pancetta and maple syrup option for the best of both worlds. There are even a few additions to the already healthy menu for the more health conscious: homemade puffed quinoa granola with fresh fruit, which is always light and delicious.

Items may be a little more pricey compared to other breakfast or brunch joints but the quality of fresh ingredients makes it worth it as the restaurant uses local products from various suppliers: Fresh bread prepared by Premiere Moisson, veal sausages from Veau Charlevoix and fair trade coffee distributed by Café Union can always guarantee the best of Quebec’s produce.
