Cirque du Soleil is back and this time with a brand new show, Luzia – A Waking Dream of Mexico. We’ve come to expect incredible shows from Cirque du Soleil, and this one should be no different.

The production starts April 21st and runs until July 3rd. Instead of Place des Arts, this show will take place in the Old Port in the Quai Jacques Cartier in the Grand Chapiteau (the big top) which can seat up to 2,600 spectators at a time. This will be an epic show with a huge audience.

If you visit Old Montreal, you can already see the big top being set up for the upcoming show. It stands at 19 meters high and 51 meters in diameter. It took 80 people to set it up! We can’t wait to see what they do with it!

The show is co-written by Daniele Finzi Pasca and Julie Hamelin Finzi. Luzia is inspired by Mexican culture and focuses on two main themes: light and rain. They are the inspiration for the name Luzia, which is the combination of the Spanish words “luz” (light) and “lluvia” (rain).

You can expect a show with lots of colour and stunning imagery. Check out their Facebook page for a behind the scenes look at the making of this production.

Tickets start at only $44 and can be purchased here. Family rates and group rates are available. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to see an awe-inspiring show at a great price! We’ve got to support our Montreal artists, after all.
