Style Labo is a vintage furniture store created by Anne Defay and her partner Romain Castelli. Anne was originally from France but moved to Montreal about 7 years ago and decided to open her store. She decided to put everything she loves into one space, which, if you can’t tell, are antiques. The store has been opened for a little over 5 years and they recently opened a second store called Brut not too far away.

When you walk into Style Labo, you can see that everything is very well organized with a decor that is pleasing to the eye. You won’t know where you’ll want to venture first. The store consists of 90% antiquities which Anne tries to restore and bring back to life. They have workshops specifically designed for this purpose that are open Wednesday to Friday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

Style Labo carries everything you can think of, such as vintage furniture, lighting fixtures, mirrors, charmingly rusted light-bulb signs, office accessories, coat racks, and much more. They even have vintage postcards and black and white pictures of real people from the 1860’s. Everything is so ancient that it feels like you are walking into a museum. 10% of their products are new but are packaged with a cute vintage motif to go with the theme of the store.

Anne has created the perfect little vintage shop. With its cool urban feel and original pieces, don’t be surprised if you find yourself spending an entire afternoon exploring through time.
