Nothing says the holidays are near like The Nutcracker ballet in Montréal. Performed every year during the holiday season, The Nutcracker is an age-old tale performed by the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. The company has added another event to make the holiday season more memorable for Montrealers by starting The Nutcracker Market and the Nutcracker Fund for Children in 2010.

The Nutcracker Market was the first of its kind in Montreal back in 2010. It is a non-profit organization that donates 10% of their earnings to the Nutcracker Fund for Children, an organization allows underprivileged children to enjoy a free performance of the Nutcracker show. A grand night out to a fancy ballet filled with Christmas cheer is sure to brighten up the season for these children. Located in the mall of the Palais des Congres de Montréal (on the ground floor), the market runs through November 27, 2014 to December 7, 2014, and is opened 7 days a week.

The Nutcracker Market is a great place to find unique gift ideas for anyone. Because of these unique selections within the market, shoppers are presented with a variety of options to choose from, which include, but are not limited to, jewelry, dinnerware, local products, decorating items, treats, and toys. Spending money never felt so good, especially since it’s going to a good cause.
