Do you ever find yourself drudging through hump day, desperately in need of something to kick the mid-week blues? Wednesday nights can be mundane, but with Macbar et Fromage’s new Wednesday Ladies nights, they’re about to be a whole lot more delicious.
Macbar et Fromage is a casual diner on Ontario street specializing in, you guessed it, Mac and Cheese. From honey-smoked bacon mac and cheese to spicy habanero and jalapeño mac and cheese, they’ve seriously got all bases covered. Their cheesy repertoire also boasts an assortment of delicious grilled cheeses and their famous fried mac and cheese balls.
Wednesday nights at Macbar have now gained the official title of Ladies’ Night. From 6pm to 11pm, with the purchase of one of their sangrias, martinis, signature mason jar drinks, and classic cocktails (all just $10!), ladies get a free two course meal off the special Ladies’ Night menu. The menu changes every week, and offers a variety of dishes sure to please every palate.
The Ladies’ Night drink menu at Macbar et Fromage offers a variety of classics as well as unique concoctions that are as cute to look at as they are tasty. We tried the Blackberry Bourbon and Peach Comfort – both adorable mason jar signatures that were fruity and refreshing.
To start off our delicious meal, we indulged in a warm, hearty chicken and rice soup. We also nibbled on a refreshing tomato and feta salad. As soon as we got a taste of the appetizers, we knew we were in for a real treat with the main course.
As our main meal, we had two cheesy dishes that would surely fulfill any cheese lover’s dream. We had a Grilled Cheese Sloppy Joe and Vegetarian Mac and Cheese. Both were savoury, creamy, and 100% cheesy.
Last but definitely not least, we got ourselves the most amazing cheese-inspired dessert. Did you ever think you would hear cheese and dessert in the same sentence? The chef’s creation was a flaky pastry dough stuffed with ricotta and mascarpone cheese, drizzled in cinnamon and maple syrup. It was incredibly unique and delicious.
So next time you’re dreading another Wednesday night on the couch, grab your girls and head on over to Macbar et Fromage for some cheesy food and great times.
