Winter is definitely here! While the weather outside is frightful, it doesn’t mean you should hide from it. Winter in Montreal is full of great activities. Montreal kicks off the New Year with its famous Fête des neiges de Montréal at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

The Fête des neiges de Montréal is from January 17th to February 8th, 2015. Popular with families (but not limited to), the Fête des neiges de Montréal is an outdoor weekend-long event with many options of both free and paid activities.

The Fête des neiges de Montréal is every Saturday (10:00am – 8:00pm) and Sunday (10:00am – 6:00pm). With more than 25 outdoor activities to explore, the Fête des neiges de Montréal has something for everyone. Some free activities include: live ice-sculpting performances, l’aventure magique (a magical musical adventure of fairy tales), west coast lumberjack show, rythmo! (the new youth musical show) and many more. A full list of activities and their schedules can be found on the Parc Jean-Drapeau website.

For all you foodies, on the first Saturday of the festival at 4:00pm, there will be a mini winter food truck festival called Tripes & Bouffe.

You can also buy an ACCROPasse, which gives you unlimited access during the 8 days of the event to different activities like: tube slide and disco-tube, carousel, Ferris wheel, free admission to museums, and discounts on restaurants.

With all these amazing and different options, you don’t want to miss out on this year’s Fête des neiges de Montréal event.
