The holidays have ended, the New Year is here, and so is the real deal Montreal winter. But luckily we’re here to be the givers of good news. Montreal foodies needn’t feel down and out just yet. Because it’s also that time of year for the 8th annual Happening Gourmand, kicking off January 8th until February 8th. For those 4 weeks, 8 well-known Old Montreal restaurants will be offering specials during lunch and dinner service for a fraction of the price. Hot diggity dog.
So where can you feast on these deals exactly? The restos participating are BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Kyo Bar Japonais, Mechant Boeuf, Modavie, Suite 701, Taverne Gaspar, Verses Restaurant, and Vieux-Port Steakhouse. Each of them will be serving creative and sure to be delicious set 3-course menus ranging between $21 and $29. We weren’t joking when we said these deals were hot.
And if all that’s not enough, just like in previous years, Happening Gourmand has teamed up with Montreal’s great wintertime festival, Igloofest, giving diners who order the Happening Gourmand menu a discounted price on Igloofest tickets. Which is totally ideal, because if one is going to dance about in the great outdoors, one must be full of delicious food first. To stay warm, of course. They’re also offering packages for a one-night stay and a three-course dinner for two at one of the participating restaurants if you stay at Le Place d’Armes Hôtel & Suites, Hôtel Nelligan, Le Petit Hôtel, or l’Auberge du Vieux-Port.
The deals are on for the month, but you shouldn’t delay. In truth, with such a vast array of cuisines, we’d be hard pressed to find an excuse not to make a visit to each of them. To find out more details, be sure to check out the Happening Gourmand website and Facebook page!
Happy eating!
