Comfort food is what comes to mind when thinking of The Sparrow. Customers can pop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner and be served anything from eggs benedict to salted cod fish cakes. The Sparrow has without a doubt a very diverse menu, one that peaks every visitor’s curiosity upon his or her first visit. To sum it all up: red velvet waffles. This gives you quite a feel for what to expect from The Sparrow; combining our love for red velvet cake and waffles is just the tip of the iceberg. Aside from their comfort food, they also serve an array of cocktails for brunch, which includes your classic mimosa, apple mimosa or blood orange mimosa. If mimosas aren’t your thing, don’t worry, they also serve a mean bloody mary, bloody caesar, bourbon lemonade or gin and iced tea. Not bad for a breakfast joint. This hipster-chic restaurant and bar is located on St-Laurent between Fairmount and St-Viateur, right next to it’s sister restaurant: Cardinal Tea Room. Customers who are familiar with The Sparrow can see the resemblance of both the Cardinal and Sparrow, with touches of antiquity décor, laid back furniture, and signature menu items making it a must for all breakfast lovers.
